Due to the drought in 2019 last year’s organic soybean harvest was considered worst on record which has resulted in a severe shortage of available Australian certified organic soybeans to make our tofu.
To ensure that we continue making our organic tofu we had add to temporarily revert to importing and using certified organic soybeans from Austria. This is why you will see on our packaging “Made in Australia from 0% Australian ingredients “.
Unfortunately the use of imported organic beans is likely to continue into mid year 2021 until the Australian harvest allows us to revert back locally grown organic beans.
Australian Eatwell conducted a thorough process of ensuring that the organic beans we import are from certified organic growers and processors guaranteeing that Organic integrity is adhered to.
